Sir Harold Hillier Gardens Collection

The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is a Grade 2 listed garden, south of Winchester, in Ampfield near Romsey.  The site covers 180 acres (90 hectares) and contains a superb plant collection created by the great plantsman, Sir Harold Hillier.  Present day, it remains under the trusteeship of Hampshire County Council continuing Sir Harold’s philosophy of maximising the potential of the collection for conservation, education and recreation.  The Gardens grow over 12,000 different taxa (types of plants) in over 45,000 plants and holds 14 National Plant Collections, set in a complementary mixture of formal and informal; landscapes and garden styles.  It is very much a garden for all seasons and a horticultural gem in the county of Hampshire.

Moorcroft held their first event at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in April 2014.  Designer Emma Bossons FRSA was so inspired by the beautiful gardens that it resulted in the creation of five designs.  Three years later Senior Designer Rachel Bishop followed suit, with equally artistic creativity and was scheduled for a second return visit in 2021 but this had to be postponed due to Covid-19.  Thankfully, the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens welcome the return of Moorcroft for a third time, together with Rachel, this June – together with a seven piece Sir Harold Hillier Gardens Collection.
