Stir Up Sunday 41/7 Vase

Full of Kerry’s wholesome humour, a family gathers in their farmhouse kitchen for the tradition of stirring the Christmas pudding and making a wish for the year ahead. All must have a go, with someone adding a silver coin into the mix for good luck.

In the modern world, people are often so busy in this period, that traditions handed down through the generations are lost or replaced by new ones. Kerry thought this one to be rather special with Mum pictured stirring the pudding with her children, as Grandad watches with a wry smile. Pictured in a rocking chair toasting her toes against the hearth, Grandma will be called to stir next. Perhaps dreaming of Father Christmas, or simply watching the red family tractor at work in the yard, a fair-haired child, and even a small black and white spotty dog with its paws up at the kitchen table, no doubt trying to pinch the food, complete the scene.
