Seconds Cyclamen Repandum JU7 Jug

Nicola Slaney’s cyclamen slender jug has across is surface, layers of this beautiful pink flower. Its covering is an act of pure affection and as a piece of Moorcroft, it will grace any house that offers it a home. This particular variety of cyclamen comes from Italy and flowers in the spring months of April and May. Found growing in the wild, it favours the woodland shade and often can be discovered growing by riverbanks of quietly meandering streams, where the water is clean enough to drink from, and is a vital source to the cyclamen to help them thrive in the heat of the Italian countryside.

What is a Moorcroft second? All our art pottery is closely inspected before it leaves the Moorcroft factory and the selection process is as rigorous as any in the world. As a result, not all pieces emerge unblemished in their quality assessment. The fault or faults may be in the finish of a piece, whether it be a tiny tubeline miss, an incorrectly painted petal, or a small glaze run. Seconds are not ‘red-dotted’, all of them are far too good for that, and each seconds piece has a charm and individuality of its own. Any fault is not structural and the piece can still be used for the purpose it was made.
