Crow Hill - Trial 107/12 Vase

Crow Hill, Cambourne, supports farmland birds such as skylark and meadow pipit, while wetland birds and dragonflies enjoy the lakes. At dawn, you can witness a flock of crows hovering in the updraught on the brow of the hill, their forms rowdy and seemingly haphazard. Kerry captures this moment as if she is looking down through the eye of a tornado, feathers fanned, wings curved and beaks pointing outwards with their loud, resounding "caw” echoing across the valley below. Midnight black-coloured feathers, with an almost iridescent shine to them, have been enhanced by dashes of royal blue and steel blues as canopies of trees appear to be pulled into a whirlwind by the designer’s crow’s nest perspective - their clouded boughs turn into puffs of soft satin blue and grey-blue graphite hues. As the premier of this new shape, Crow Hill takes Moorcroft through a mysterious window of design. Hauntingly brilliant.
