Moorcroft Eggs

Moorcroft had no intention of following in the footsteps of Gustav Faberge when it first fashioned its iconic egg shape. For the fine art pottery to make even a single shape of an egg has always been a labour of love. To make every shape different would always have been a total impossibility for Moorcroft in economic terms. Moorcroft remembers only too well that it took Faberge up to two years to make even a single egg! Even so, few will know just how much each Moorcroft egg reflects a labour of love. Hard to perfect, hard to shape and always difficult for tube liners and painters to hold, it is probably not surprising that Moorcroft eggs make infrequent appearances. Thankfully, in the run up to Easter this year, they do make a reappearance, in the form of four unique eggs, each by a different designer.

Also still available are 3 eggs launched last year, 2 by designer, Paul Hilditch, entitled Catching the Wind along with Tiptoe by Rachel Bishop.
