2026 marks the 90th anniversary of the legendary Supermarine Spitfire, one of the most famous and celebrated British fighter aircraft in aviation history.

First taking to the skies in 1936, the Spitfire became a symbol of courage, freedom and British resilience. During the summer of 1940, its exceptional speed, agility and performance played a vital role in defending Britain against German air attacks during the Battle of Britain, securing its place in history as one of the finest Allied fighter aircraft of its time.

Over Silent Skies is a poignant tribute to this remarkable aircraft and the extraordinary bravery of those who flew it. Where once the skies above Britain echoed with the roar of engines and the sounds of battle, today they are a place of peace and quiet — a powerful reminder of the freedoms so courageously defended.
