Salt Water Lore 374/9 Vase
Part of The King's Path Collection
The King Charles III England Coast Path is a 2,700-mile National Trail tracing the entire English coastline. Opened in March 2026, it passes through beaches, cliffs, coastal towns and ever-changing landscapes, offering greater access for walkers to experience the shoreline and its surrounding margins.
Inspired by the natural world and that sense of ‘fresh air therapy’, Emma has interpreted the eight sections of the path across eight designs. From views directly along the trail to nearby coastal scenes, the varied beauty of England’s coastline is captured in ceramic form.
Salt Water Lore
Lincolnshire Coast
Drawing on the coastal legends of Grimsby and the surrounding shores, Salt Water Lore explores stories of mermaids accompanied by a playful fish and shifting tides.
Wrapped around the form, the design unfolds as the vase is turned, revealing a continuous narrative in watery blues. Mermaids and marine life emerge and recede within the composition, creating a sense of movement and discovery from every angle. Soft tonal blues echo the depth and mystery of the sea, where folklore and imagination meet beneath the surface.
