Over the Skies of Stoke 65/9 Vase
Over the Skies of Stoke not only celebrates 100 years of Stoke-on-Trent’s city status, but also pays homage to Reginald Joseph Mitchell, who was raised in our city, and became the leader of the team who designed the Spitfire – a crucial fighter aircraft in World War II.
The lower half of the vase features a historic cityscape, where smoke billows from iconic bottle ovens, while the magnificent Spitfire bursts through the clouds above.
This design is not just a piece of art, it is a journey through time, capturing the essence of our city's industrious spirit and its soaring contributions not only to art pottery, but also to aviation history.
