Rose End Meadows 122/8 Vase

Emma’s inspiration came from a visit she made to a nature reserve managed by the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust called Rose End Meadows. Sixteen small meadows, never treated with artificial fertiliser or herbicide, create a vivid picture of how Derbyshire’s limestone farmland looked a 100 years ago. The reserve is full of wildflowers through spring and in summer, from bluebells and buttercups to bee orchids and great burnet. It was the last of these flowers that Emma was keen to use, having never done so before. To this, she added wild anemones and cowslips enabling her design to grow organically across the surface of the vase.
