City Guardians 372/5 Vase

This year on Staffordshire Day, we had an extra reason to celebrate as Moorcroft’s Heritage Visitor Centre has reopened after 4 long months. Visitors are now able to return and enjoy our Museum and Grade II listed bottle oven. Once, Stoke-on-Trent had over 2000 bottle kilns, but today only 47 remain and Moorcroft’s kiln, built in 1919, is the only updraught skeleton bottle oven regularly open to the public. We celebrate our history with City Guardians – with iconic bottle kilns looming over terraced houses and the symbol of hope and resilience, the rainbow, arcing overhead.
