Brentry 32/8 Vase

Vase

Brentry is the name of a woodland area located just across the road from the main Gardens. The ten-acre site includes a large Rhododendron collection, Azaleas, mature Scots Pine trees and shrubs divided by informal woodland paths. It is a quiet location but stunningly beautiful in springtime, particularly when the Rhododendrons are in full flower. During the summer the site looks very ‘green’ but there is a particular medium sized shrub which always draws the eye and commands attention – Stewartia malacodendron; a plant group allied to the Camellia family, although not evergreen. It is simply beautiful with purest white saucer shaped petals and purple toned stamens in the centre of the flower. The famous Moorcroft blue background provides a strong contrast against the white petals which wrap around the design so well coupled by their beautiful purple centre and swirl of green foliage.
