Benton Olive 226/9 Vase

Cultivated by Cedric Morris, Benton Olive is an English iris with such a subtle colouring and exquisite form that it thrives against a dusky-green ground colour, nodding gently within roundels straddled with green and gold foliage, twisting in Art Nouveau decadence. The artistry achieved in this design is remarkable, with falls complete with olive tan, flushed reddish-blue from a centre that appears to move like a carp’s tail of almost iridescent-violet. This is design that extenuates poetic movement and holds a flow of effortless grace.
